'Roy Smeck' ukulele-banjo SOLD!
Rare 'signature' Roy Smeck banjo-uke, made by John Grey & Sons. This is in very good original condition, and still has the vellum bearing the Roy Smeck signature (printed, I am sure, as are the GF ones on Dallas ukes). There is no serial number, but its style dates it from the 1930s-40s. I have chosen not to make any effort to "rejuvenate" this, and so signs of very mild wear are visible. This wear is far less, in my experience, than most similar-aged Dallases or other similar ukes. The case is in poor condition, and is probably not its original one, but still holds together well to secure the uke. It is extremely rare to find one of these with the original vellum, as well as in such good condition. High res pics are available, and I am happy to answer emailed questions. |
