'May Bell' ukulele-banjo
A vintage American 'May Bell' banjo-uke, made by Slingerland. This is an open-backed model without resonator, and the diameter of the hoop is 8 inches. The tone is bright and strong with plenty of volume, and having 16 hooks enables even and firm tension on the vellum. All parts are in good order and the instrument is well set up and ready to play. The condition is nice and there are no problems, just a few scratches and knocks here and there - it has obviously been played plenty! The Maybell inscription on the peghead has been picked out in paint which is probably not original, and there is a small hole in the body which suggests that a pick-up has been fitted at some time. A vintage case is included in the price (as pictured). |
