Leho Tenor Ukulele SOLD! | ||||||||||||||||
I'm selling what
has been my main gigging ukulele for the last 4 years. I
bought this tenor uke in Singapore while doing some
ukulele workshops out there. It has a thin body but doesnt lack volume! It has, I believe, a solid cedar top which is ageing and darkening very nicely and gives it an older retro look . It has either rosewood or mahogany back and sides (sorry can't confirm) and is fitted with a 'B Band' pickup with onbody volume and tone control. There are some strumming marks as you might expect with my style of playing but I like to think these add to its character! The back is almost perfect (I dont strum there!) and has a nice 'shell' emblem inlay at neck to body, there's also a 'shell' inlay on the fingerboard. I thnk Leho means 'seashell' in Hawiian. This brand isnt available in the UK so you dont see many like this over here. A loud, lovely tone, accurate up the fretboard (14 frets to the body ) and fitted at present with Aquila Lava strings, however I think DAddario nyltech tenor strings are perhaps slightly louder and what I would normally use. Complete with hard case (my name is on the case but would scrub off!) There are a couple of YouTube clips showing the uke - search 'Steven Sproat Cotswold life' and 'Steven Sproat Garden Café Alone again naturally live'. |
