| This instrument
possibly dates from 1950s or 60s and would be a wonderful
project for somebody with the skills or funds to restore
it properly. Overall this is a fabulous little classic
Hawaiian-made uke in generally very good order for its
age. However as the photos show, the bridge is a rather
poor replacement (by a previous owner). There are also
two parallel cracks running below the bridge, the crack
on the left appears stable but the other will need
repairing as there is movement. Currently strung with Martin strings this instrument does have a lovely tone even in its present state. Once repaired/restored however it could potentially be fabulous! Comes with a sturdy but rather battered hard shell case. |
