Very rare banjo-uke made by the famous luthier Michael Iucci of 377 Broome St., New York, circa 1925.

Stamped 815.

Very similar in design to the instruments later produced by Ludwig (Iucci was a very influential designer and inventor) but lighter and louder.

Excellent+++ condition. Dead straight maple neck (14” scale length) inlaid with layers of redwood and ebony. Rosewood fingerboard and fancy mother of pearl markers. 1:4 geared tuners. Beautifully engraved one piece metal pot. Burr maple resonator edged with bands of ebony.

Plays superbly with good intonation (tuning) and a huge chunky sound. Perfectly set up with new calf skin vellum (original with Iucci’s stamp also included).
