Florentine Bella Voce ukulele-banjo Many years ago, I was in a Museum in Nashville where Chet Atkins was being honored, and in a glass case I saw, of all things, two Gibson Ukes, one of which was a 'Florentine / Bella Voce' Banjo Uke. I couldn't believe my eyes. I took some pictures and was determined to somehow find one. No luck! None except that one was made. Probably a custom order. So I had one of America's top notch luthiers make me one. It's an exact copy, gold plated, with incredible carving, and inlay work, and boy does it have a sound! It's truly a collectors item, and the only one like it in the world. I'll leave it with my family in the Swindon area, where it can be viewed. |
