| 1981 Abbott 'Monarch' ukulele-banjo. SOLD | ||||
| An Abbott 'Monarch'
made in 1981 by Jack Abbott Junior for Alf White, a
founder member of the Ukulele Society of Great Britain. I
still have the correspondence and receipt sent from Jack
Abbott in respect of the instrument. It's a top-tension model with scalloped bezel and decorative inlays on the peghead, fingerboard and back. Nickel-plated metalwork, pentagonal cut-outs in the flange, ornamentally shaped peghead and 16 frets. Complete with Roger Bamford hard case. The condition is original and extremely good, the only points to mention being that a little of the white binding on each side of the fingerboard is missing (from the top fret to the end of the neck - it's only 'cosmetic') and a label has been stuck to the back of the peghead at some time (this looks as though it could be cleaned up). |
